How does nutritional therapy work?

You are made up of 30-40 trillion cells and the function of them depends on the micro and macronutrients contained in the food that you eat - it fuels our cells. The nutritional density and quality of your diet will play a huge role in your cellular health and therefore your overall wellbeing.

As a nutritional therapist, I am trained to think about cellular health to uncover root causes, imbalances in body systems and hormones and to spot potential nutrient deficiencies.

My in-depth approach in the initial consultation, which takes 1.5 hours, allows me to have a full understanding of your health history, diet and symptoms so that I can suggest easy to implement changes to habits for the long term and tried and tested high quality effective supplements, which will restore balance and cell function in the short term.

A mind-body approach to health

However, nutrition is not the full picture and we also have to zoom out and look at other factors which influence health - these being movement, mental wellbeing, stress levels, relationships, emotional health, sleep, purpose and community.

My job is to therefore support you by helping you to look 360 degrees at your life, make links with lifestyle and symptoms and then suggest easily implementable changes to lifestyle habits, step by step so that you can start to feel better.

This may be suggestions like implementing good sleep hygiene, getting out in nature and mindfulness practices that help you understand yourself better.

The power of small changes

My job is not to overwhelm you by taking on too much change at once. I don't believe in 'perfection' ie having a perfect diet or perfect daily routine.
I believe in stacking up habits and having days off, following 80/20 rule or the principle of 'good enough'. I also believe in self acceptance, fully understanding ourselves and taking time every day to do something that brings you joy.
When you combine this mind-body approach with nutrition, the effect on reducing symptoms and wellbeing can be so powerful, as I and many of my previous clients have found.

I look forward to helping you on your health journey.
